Hello Dear Ones,
One academic year has passed, with numerous highs and lows, multiple ups and downs and you all have emerged stronger than before, proving your mettle and your ability to improve yourselves. I am so proud of all of you. Cheers to those who have done well and special cheers to those who although couldn’t fare well in their marksheets but have showed substantial improvements both academically and individually. Few names come across my mind when I say this; like, Afreen Parvin of Standard III – I remember when I joined Don Bosco School, I used to see her sit meekly at the backbench abstaining to indulge in any classroom activities. But, days passed by and during the last days of my tenure at school, I could see her beautiful little eyes shining with new spirit and hopes. Aaratrika Sarkar of Standard V, you have really made me proud, dear one; I have put my trust in you earlier and I believe the you will keep elevating yourself into a better version. Always remember, when I say keep on improving, it doesn’t only mean academically – Always keep in mind, never stop trying to be a good person, a good human being first. Always strive to become your own better self than yesterday.
I would like to make a special mention to a student of Standard III – Syed Aiyaz Hossain. What a brave boy! I have never seen such courageousness at such young age. You, my dear one have set a great example for your peers that despite facing a setback, through sheer dedication and determination, one can face any hardship in life. Though suffering a fractured right hand, you managed to study in such pain and discomfort and come everyday to sit for your exam. You have taught us the spirit of perseverance and to never give up. Kudos to you little one!
Since a new academic year is about to begin, I want to remind you all a few things which I always used to say in the classroom. Competition is good, but don’t let competition bitter your bonds with your friends. Never let arrogance of your success come in between your friendships. You must compete, but not with others; it must be with your own self. Learn from your past mistakes and outshine yourself from your own past. Be the better version of yourselves. Make new friends and keep nurturing your old friendships as well. Respect your teachers, your seniors and help your juniors. I believe in you all. Here’s to a school year filled with challenges that help you grow, opportunities that help you shine and friendships that last a lifetime. Wishing you a school year filled with laughter, joy and unforgettable moments.
See you all in the next blog. Don’t forget to share your thoughts in the comment section!
